Scanning
You can scan all your email and have ParetoLogic Spam Controls detect and report any items that are known spam. All emails identified as spam are automatically moved to the PL Spam Controls folder.
To begin a scan:
- Select the Inbox folder or any of the Inbox subfolders.
- Click the Scan button.
- In the confirmation box that appears you can select the Scan subfolders option.
- Click Start Scan.
Note: If you select the PL Spam Controls folder, the Scan button is disabled as all the items in this folder have previously been identified as spam.
Scan Results
Scan details are displayed during the scan. After the scan is complete a summary is provided in the Email Scanner window. The information displayed includes the following:
Spam emails found
|
Total number of spam emails detected from the scan.
|
Emails scanned
|
Total number of emails scanned.
|
Spam list
|
A list of detected spam with information related to the sender and subject.
|
All emails that are detected during the scan are automatically sent to the PL Spam Controls folder. You can view and purge these items. For more information, see Purge.
Cancel the Scan
During the scan process you have the option to cancel the scan. The results, up until the cancel point, are displayed.
To cancel the scan:
- Click the Cancel button.
- Click the Close button to close the Email Scanner window.
