Whitelist Items

After a scan is complete the results are displayed. You can choose to clear items from the list before deleting them. For more information, see Removing Scanned Items. You can clear Internet Explorer cookies so they are not removed by adding them to the Privacy Controls Whitelist. This is useful for keeping cookies containing logon credentials that you want to use automatically when visiting a trusted site.

To add an Internet Explorer cookie to the Whitelist, do the following:

  1. Set the Scan Options: click the Options button and ensure the Internet Browsers and Internet Explorer categories are selected.
  2. Begin the scan: click the Scan button in the left panel and click the Start Scan button.
  3. In the scan results, expand the Internet Explorer category and the Cookies category using the drop-down arrows. Clear the check box associated with the cookie you want to accept.
  4. Proceed with the removal process.

On subsequent scans, the cookie is detected but the associated check box remains cleared. To reverse the process, you can select the check box. The item will be deleted the next time you perform a scan and remove.
