Shredding Items

Once you have selected only the files you want to permanently erase in the Shred list, you can set the Shred level and then shred the files.

Warning: There is no way to recover shredded items. Verify the items you have selected before proceeding.

Select a Shred level by doing the following:

In the Advanced Shred window, click the radio button next to the Shred level of your choice.

You can now shred the file or files that you have selected.

Note: Some files cannot be shredded such as files that are locked as they are in use by another program. For more information, see Advanced Shred.

To shred the files, do the following:

1. Click the Shred button.
2. Click Yes in the confirmation box.

You can choose the option to not display the confirmation dialog again. If you want to restore this confirmation dialog, you will need to restore the default settings. For more information, Scan Options.
