Control Panel Window Controls
The Control Panel is the central interface for the administrator. There are two sets of window controls that you need to familiarize yourself with. The first set includes the standard minimize, maximize, and close buttons. The second set includes shutting down the program, logging off, and the Help button.
Note: Only someone with ParetoLogic PGsurfer administrator privileges can access and use the Control Panel.
The Controls can be found at the top right area of the Control Panel and appear as seen here:
Minimize, Maximize, and Close
There are standard buttons to adjust the size of the Control Panel window as seen here.

|
From left to right, these are Minimize, Maximize, and Close.
Minimize: This hides the window so that it is no longer in view on the desktop but is placed on the taskbar.
Maximize: This expands the window from a partial window to a full screen window.
Close: This will close the Control Panel but leave the program running. You will need to save any changes that you have made. A confirmation dialog is displayed if changes were made.
|
Warning: When you close the Control Panel, you are still logged on as an administrator. If you leave the computer running, any user can access the Control Panel and change the settings. By default there is an automatic logout after five minutes of system inactivity. For more information, see the General page.
Shutdown, Logout, and Help
Below the windows buttons there are controls for shutting down the program, logging out, and bringing up the help file.
Shutdown
When you select the Shutdown PGsurfer command, the program will close. This means that PGsurfer is not working to restrict or limit Internet access.
Note: When you choose to shutdown PGsurfer, anyone can access the Internet without any restrictions. You need to click Yes in the confirmation dialog that appears.
PGsurfer will be operational again when you next start the computer or when you launch the program.
Logout
You can log off and exit the program by clicking the Logout command.
Note: When you log out, PGsurfer remains running in the background. Any user wanting to access Internet activities will need to login.
Help
By clicking the Help command you can open this help file. You can click the Help option at anytime when using the Control Panel and the Help file will open to the page corresponding to the Control Panel page that is displayed. You can also press the F1 help key.
