Popup Alerts
An Active Protection alert is a window that appears near your Taskbar Notification area when a potential malware threat is detected. The alert is based on your Active Protection settings and can be changed according to your needs. To find out how you can view and configure your Alert levels, see Active Protection Overview. The Alert window appears as seen here:

The Alert window contains:
- The name of the monitor that detected the malware threat.
- A description of the threat and what was detected.
- Buttons to determine what actions you would like Active Protection to take (for Full Protection only).
Actions
You have three options to choose from when an alert notification appears:
You are directed to block an event when Active Protection detects a potential threat and displays an alert notification. It is recommended that you use caution when choosing to allow an item. Only allow items that you know are not going to result in system damage or performance degradation.
Active Protection automatically creates a log for any items that are blocked. For more information, see Logged Events. Blocked items are also sent to the Blocked Events list where you can remove or restore them.
Note: There are times when malware items continue to take hold of your system even when you are attempting to block them. In these cases it is best to run a complete scan. For more information, see Cyclic Detection
