Scanning

Regular scanning for malware threats is essential for computer security and system safety. You can determine how frequently you need to scan and remove malware based on how much you use your system.

Typically, if you have Active Protection running at the Medium or High level of protection, you can perform a thorough computer scan once a week. If you have turned Active Protection off or have it running at the Log-Only setting, we recommend scanning when you start up your computer for the day. We also suggest that you run a scan after removing programs or if system performance is slower than usual.
