Q. I am trying to install ParetoLogic Anti-Virus PLUS and I keep getting the following message: "Error 1500. Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation, before continuing this one." Why?
Signed: "Confused"
A. Dear "Confused"
On your computer, only one MSI installer can be running at the same time. If you are getting this error message, it means that Windows or another program is using the MSI installer, possibly for an update. Please wait for a few minutes for the other installer to finish and then try to install ParetoLogic Anti-Virus PLUS again.

Open up Malware Diaries to protect yourself
It seems like everyday a new threat emerges on the Internet. How can someone keep up with everything? ParetoLogic has launched a new blog, Malware Diaries, which provides insight into current and emerging threats. The blog is penned by computer security analysts Jerome Segura and Jean Taggart. The duo are part of ParetoLogic's Spyware Analysis Team (S.W.A.T.).
"Malware Diaries is meant to be a non-technical blog, with real examples of online security threats," Segura said. "It is a personal journal of security researchers who document their findings, whether they may be humorous, frightening or simply real."
The blog is just one of the ways SWAT is sharing its knowledge. The team recently made presentations to University of Victoria students, offering them information on how to keep safe on social networking sites. Segura and Taggart also were guests in April on the Computer Information Show in Victoria, B.C. radio station CFAX 1070. The computer security analysts discussed malware, spyware and viruses with Bill McCarter, the show's host.
He likes us. He really likes us!
Tom Cervasio recently had the ParetoLogic team feeling a lot like Sally Fields did at the 1985 Oscars. Impressed by ParetoLogic's outstanding customer care and quality products, the client not only penned some kind words of thanks to the company, but also created an image in Photoshop as a tribute. The amount of work Cervasio put into expressing his appreciation made the ParetoLogic team feel greatly honoured.
"The time and effort Tom spent on expressing his appreciation for our products and services is outstanding," said Elton Pereira, ParetoLogic's CEO and co-founder. "We are very humbled and proud to have inspired him. At ParetoLogic, we put a lot of hard work into trying to make software that helps people. We are very pleased so see that all of that effort is paying off."
ParetoLogic's Customer Care and Support Team greatly contributed to Cervasio's positive experience. The team is available to answer a wide variety of questions and strives to assure client satisfaction.
Want a divorce? Head to the keyboard
Tricia Walsh-Smith earned her 15 minutes of fame when she took to the Internet. The actress/playwright/author posted the secrets of her failed marriage to Phillip Smith, president of the Schubert Organization, on YouTube. Smith's company is the largest owner of theatres on Broadway in New York.
While Walsh-Smith's rant, which included allegations of a sexless marriage, might appear to be extreme, it is an example of how computers and the Internet are playing a role in divorce proceedings. An American Academy of Matrimony Lawyers (AAML) poll showed 79% of the top divorce lawyers in the U.S. have witnessed an increase in the use of Internet browser histories as case evidence over the past five years. 88% of the surveyed members stated there was a "dramatic increase" in electronic evidence being used. This evidence includes emails, cell phone records, website history and even GPS data. 44% said spyware (software used to monitor computer activities without consent) is being used "more often than not" in divorces.

Does it all sound Greek to you?
Don't worry! Each month we will explain a word or phrase connected to the Internet. As well as giving you a better understanding of the Internet, you will also be able to impress your friends with your newfound knowledge.
Trackware:
This is a generic catch-all for software designed to track a user's computer use and Web-searching practices. This info is sent to a remote server where it is often used for marketing.

"Big thumbs up to Paretologic!
You guys are awesome ... don't know what I'd do without RegCure ... You saved my bacon on many occasions.
I just wish more people understood that RegCure can actually repair errors, instead of having to restore all the time!
Thanks again!"
Christopher
"have since purchased Anti-Virus PLUS and RegCure and I must say the first scans are very impressive, in fact Anti-Virus found a trojan and other stuff that other programs have not revealed.
A scan with RegCure has cleared over 1m000 items and my computer is now flying - in fact I don't think it's ever run this well
You guys certainly know how to develop great programs and I would like to congratulate everyone"
